Astros Win Both! Stars Fall Short

The Stars Can't Catch Up To Lincoln East
 
The Stars watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-0 loss to Carpet Land - Lincoln East on Saturday.  Carpet Land scored on a double by Jeter Worthley in the first inning, a double by AJ Evasco in the first inning, and a sacrifice fly by Harrison Biester in the second inning.
 
The Stars struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Lincoln East, giving up seven runs.
 
Carpet Land opened up scoring in the first inning.  Worthley drove in one when Worthley doubled.
 
One bright spot for Fargo was a single by Eli Mach in the second inning.
 
Connor Johnson was on the mound for Lincoln East. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero.
 
Chayton Senn toed the rubber for the Stars. The righthander surrendered seven runs on eight hits over four and a third innings, striking out one.  Chase Lura threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
 
Andre Werk and Mach all had one hit to lead Fargo.
 
Lincoln East collected eight hits.  Troy Peltz and Garrett Springer each managed multiple hits for Carpet Land.  Carpet Land (L East) was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Joey Senstock had the most chances in the field with four.
 
 
 
Astros Defeats Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs Despite Allowing 5-Run Inning
 
The Astros managed through a push by Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs in the second inning where Fargo coughed up five runs, but the Astros still won 18-7 on Saturday.  Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs's big inning was driven by singles by Grant Rademacher, Quincy Grabenstein, and Alex Uchtman and an error on a ball put in play by Jake Janssen.
 
Bats blistered as Post 400 collected six hits and Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs tallied eight in the high-scoring game.
 
Fargo took the lead for good with six runs in the third inning.  In the third Kaleb Blanchette drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs for Post 400, and Kane Mathiason doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.
 
The Astros notched ten runs in the fifth inning.  Ethan Doll, Cayden Neuharth, Calvin Jungling, Owen Shannon, Jack Gould, and  Doll all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
 
Joe Gould pitched 400 to victory. The southpaw surrendered seven runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out five.
 
Anthony Franco took the loss for Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs. The bulldog surrendered six runs on two hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
 
Gus Werremeyer led Post 400 with two hits in three at bats.
 
Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs collected eight hits on the day.  Uchtman and Josh Grant all had multiple hits for Elkhorn North Equitable Bank Jrs.
 
 
 
The Astros Takes Victory Over Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans
 
Fargo was victorious over Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans, 6-4
 
In the first inning, Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans got their offense started.  Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans scored one run when Landon Sandy tripled.
 
The Astros pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Cayden Neuharth doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Owen Shannon drew a walk, scoring one run, Joe Gould drew a walk, scoring one run, Kaleb Blanchette doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Ethan Doll singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
 
Ashton Rinas took the win for Post 400 Astros 17U. Rinas lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out five.  Coleston Senn threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Gavin Bullock was on the pitcher's mound for Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans. The righthander allowed four hits and six runs over six innings, striking out five.
 
Neuharth, Rinas, Blanchette, and Doll each collected one hit to lead Post 400.
 
Hudson Grau went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans in hits.  Lincoln East Junior Varsity Spartans didn't commit a single error in the field. Sandy had the most chances in the field with five.
