Fargo Post 400 Win Both Against Watertown

Post 400 Astros Holds Onto Victory as Watertown, SD Junior Legion Almost Erases 6-Run Deficit
 
Post 400 Astros built a six-run lead in the third inning and then held off Watertown, SD Junior Legion's charge for a 8-7 victory on Friday.  Watertown, SD Junior Legion put up six runs in the failed comeback. Mitch Olsen, Carter Beynon,  Hayden Ries, Olsen, Ries, and Charles Larson powered the rally with RBIs.
 
The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Post 400 Astros collected 12 hits and Watertown, SD Junior Legion had eight.
 
Post 400 Astros got things started in the second inning when Blake McCarthy singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
 
Post 400 Astros tallied five runs in the third inning.  The offensive firepower by Post 400 Astros was led by Gus Werremeyer, Ashton Rinas, Calvin Jungling, McCarthy, and Kane Mathiason, all driving in runs in the inning.
 
Watertown, SD Junior Legion scored three runs in the fourth inning.  Olsen and Beynon all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
 
Chase Lura led things off on the pitcher's mound for Post 400 Astros. Lura went five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out four.
 
Nash Berg toed the rubber for Watertown, SD Junior Legion. The bulldog went three innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out two.  Olsen threw five and a third innings out of the bullpen.
 
Post 400 Astros totaled 12 hits.  McCarthy, Mathiason, and Cayden Neuharth all had multiple hits for Post 400 Astros.  Neuharth, Mathiason, and McCarthy each collected two hits to lead Post 400 Astros.
 
Watertown, SD Junior Legion collected eight hits on the day.  Olsen and Larson all managed multiple hits for Watertown, SD Junior Legion.
 
 
Post 400 Stars Blows Away Watertown, SD by Six Runs
 
Post 400 Stars had everything working on Saturday, winning big over Watertown, SD 8-2
 
Post 400 Stars got things started in the first inning when Chayton Senn grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Post 400 Stars pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third Jack Demers singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Jackson Amerman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
 
Post 400 Stars put up three runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive firepower by Post 400 Stars was led by Matthew Bryant and Senn, who all drove in runs.
 
Jake Jaroszewski got the win for Post 400 Stars. The lefty allowed four hits and two runs over five and a third innings, striking out eight and walking zero.  Bryant threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Jackson Maag was on the hill for Watertown, SD. Maag surrendered eight runs on ten hits over five and a third innings, striking out six.  Rawdon threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Post 400 Stars socked one home run on the day. Andre Werk had a dinger in the fifth inning.
 
Post 400 Stars tallied ten hits in the game.  Colby Hanson and Amerman all managed multiple hits for Post 400 Stars.  Hanson led Post 400 Stars with three hits in three at bats.  Post 400 Stars 18U didn't commit a single error in the field. Malachi Werremeyer had  eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
 
Rawdon went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Watertown, SD in hits.
