Jeff Fiechtner will be in his first season at Post 400 but is hardly an unknown in the baseball world. Jeff was the head coach at Fargo North High School from 1998-2019. Jeff also was head coach of the Fargo Post 2 legion program from 2009 to 2011 and elected into the Post 2 HOF in 2007. He helped lead Fargo to two state championships as a player in 1974 and 1976. He hit .318 for his career at the plate with 17 home runs, 35 doubles, and 127 RBIs. Jeff really excelled on the mound with a 21-11 record with a 2.26 ERA over three seasons at Post 2. Coach Fiechtner attended junior college at DMACC (Boone, IA) and was All-District and compiled an 18-7 mound record with a 1.96 ERA. He then went on to Grand Canyon University in Arizona where his team won back-to-back NAIA national championships in 1980 and 1981. He played one year in the San Diego Padres Organization and four seasons in Western Canadian League where he had a 39-11 mark with a 1.41 ERA including one league championship and the MVP of the league in 1981. Coach Fiechtner also played three seasons in Australia where his team won three straight national titles and he was the tournament MVP all three seasons and league MVP twice.
Jeff is married to Vicki and together they have five kids and soon to be three grandchildren. Coach Fiechtner will be the full time pitching coach for Post 400 and assistant coach for the Stars. We feel fortunate to add someone of his caliber to the program. He has coaching stints in Canada, Grand Canyon, Kensington Australia, Arizona, and Fargo.
