Astros Split with Watertown

Post 400 Astros Loses Lead Early in Defeat (GAME 1)
 
The Astros watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 6-1 loss to Watertown, SD Junior Legion on Saturday.  Watertown scored on a double by Nash Berg in the first inning and a single by Blake Davis in the second inning.
 
Watertown opened up scoring in the first inning, when Berg doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Watertown scored three runs in the second inning.  Watertown scored its runs on a single by Davis.
 
Markus Pitkin led things off on the hill for Watertown, SD. The bulldog allowed four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five.
 
Owen Shannon was on the mound for Fargo Post 400. Shannon allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two.  Joe Gould threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Ethan Doll led Post 400 Astros 17U with two hits in three at bats.
 
Watertown saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game.  Ashton Rabine and Davis each managed multiple hits for Watertown.  Watertown stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Rabine led the way with two.  Watertown was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Max Dylla made the most plays with  five.
 
 
 
Post 400 Astros Takes Victory Over Watertown (GAME 2)
 
The Astros defeated Watertown Júnior Legion 4-1 on Saturday.
 
In the first inning, Post 400 Astros 17U got their offense started.  Ashton Rinas drove in one when Rinas doubled.
 
Eli Claus earned the win for Post 400 Astros 17U. The righthander allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out six.
 
Chase Christianson started the game for Watertown. The bulldog allowed six hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three.  Blake Davis threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Owen Shannon, Gus Werremeyer, Rinas, Calvin Jungling, Kaleb Blanchette, Jack Gould, and Ethan Doll all had one hit to lead Fargo.  The Astros was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
