Stars Drop Game 1 Against Aberdeen - Astros Split with Lisbon

Stars Takes a Tough Blow From Smittys 
 
It was a tough day on Saturday for the Stars, who lost 11-3 to Smittys Legion.
 
Aberdeen scored nine runs in the fourth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Aberdeen was led by Phillip Zens, Jaiden Smith,  Casey Vining, Zane Backous, Jackson Welke, and Andrew Ristau-Richardson, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
 
Smith was on the pitcher's mound for the Smittys. Smith lasted four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero.
 
Jake Jaroszewski was on the mound for Fargo. The lefty allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two.  Matthew Bryant and Jackson Amerman entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and one inning respectively.
 
Stars smacked one home run on the day. Andre Werk went for the long ball in the sixth inning.
 
Colby Hanson, Chayton Senn, Logan Sullivan, Gunnar Majerus, Werk, Caleb Christianson, Eli Mach, and Amerman all had one hit to lead Post 400.
 
Smith went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Smittys in hits.

Game 2 was canceled due to the weather.
 
 
Astros Loses Lead Early in Defeat (GAME 1)
The Astros fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-4 loss to Lisbon on Saturday.  Lisbon scored on a groundout by Cam Opp in the first inning and a fielder's choice by Jaydin Howard in the second inning.
 
Fargo struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Lisbon giving up 12 runs.
 
Lisbon got things moving in the first inning.  Opp grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Lisbon scored four runs in the fourth inning.  Howard and Levi Olson each had RBIs in the frame.
 
Wyatt Olson was on the mound for Lisbon. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over three and a third innings, striking out three.
 
Coleston Senn toed the rubber for the Astros. The pitcher lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and eight runs while striking out two.  Blake McCarthy threw three and a third innings in relief.
 
Kane Mathiason went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fargo.
 
Levi Sveum led Lisbon with two hits in four at bats.
 
 
Astros Claims Lead in Fourth Inning to Defeat Lisbon (GAME 2)
 
Fargo snatched the lead late in the game in an 11-1 victory over Lisbon on Saturday.  The game was tied at one with Post 400 batting in the bottom of the fourth when Kaleb Blanchette singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
 
Fargo secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fourth inning.  Blanchette, Jack Gould, Gavin Jiskra, Ashton Rinas, Chase Lura, and  Calvin Jungling each had RBIs in the big inning.
 
Lisbon fired up the offense in the first inning, when Grady Wehlander singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Fargo evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when Kane Mathiason singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
 
Joe Gould got the start for the Astros. The lefthander allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
 
Colton Johnson toed the rubber for Lisbon. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs on 12 hits.
 
Fargo Astros tallied 12 hits in the game.  Rinas, Jungling, and Lura each racked up multiple hits for Post 400 Astros 17U.  Rinas led Post 400 with three hits in three at bats.
 
Wehlander went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Lisbon in hits.  Lisbon was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Wyatt Olson had the most chances in the field with five.
