Sunday Recap - Astros vs Lisbon

Astros Goes Down on Final Play Against Lisbon (GAME 1)
 
It came down to the last play, but Post 400 was on the wrong end of a 10-9 defeat to Lisbon on Sunday.  The game was tied at nine with Lisbon batting in the bottom of the seventh when Rich Tomlinson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
 
Despite the loss, Post 400 did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lisbon had ten hits on the way to victory.
 
Fargo captured the lead in the second inning when Ashton Rinas singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
 
In the top of the fifth inning, Post 400 tied things up at eight when Malachi Werremeyer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
 
Fargo put up four runs in the third inning.  Post 400 Astros 17U's big inning was driven by singles by Coleston Senn and Ethan Doll.
 
Lisbon scored seven runs in the fourth inning.  The big inning for Lisbon came thanks to doubles by Brandt Levos and Jordyn Bittner, a single by Wyatt Olson, a groundout by Eli Lions, and an error on a ball put in play by Blaze Reinke.
 
Cam Opp toed the rubber for Lisbon, ND. The fireballer lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out three.
 
Chase Lura was on the mound for the Astros. The righthander allowed four hits and seven runs over three and a third innings, striking out six.  Gavin Jiskra threw three innings in relief.
 
Doll went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Fargo Post 400 in hits.
 
Lisbon tallied ten hits in the game.  Opp and Levos each collected multiple hits for Lisbon.
 
 
Post 400 Astros Slides Into a Blow-Out Win Over Lisbon, ND (GAME 2)
 
Fargo coasted to an easy victory over Lisbon 14-3 on Sunday
 
Lisbon opened up scoring in the first inning.  Lisbon scored one run when Cam Opp doubled.
 
Post 400 pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning.  In the second Malachi Werremeyer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Kaleb Blanchette drew a walk, scoring one run, Josh Tandeski grounded out, scoring one run, Gus Werremeyer tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs, and Chase Lura grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Owen Shannon was on the mound for the Astros. The righthander surrendered three runs on four hits over four innings, striking out four.
 
Jaxson Hoffer led things off on the mound for Lisbon. The bulldog allowed five hits and nine runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one.  Jaydin Howard and Eli Lyons entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and one inning respectively.
 
The Astros totaled ten hits.  Lura and Werremeyer all collected multiple hits for Post 400.  Werremeyer and Lura all had three hits to lead Post 400.
