Astros Split with Kindred

Post 400 Astros Late Push Leads To Victory Over Kindred
 
The Astros snatched the lead late in their 3-2 victory over Kindred on Wednesday. The game was tied at two in the top of the seventh when Gus Werremeyer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
 
Both teams were strong on the hill. Post 400 Astros pitchers struck out five, while Kindred sat down two.
 
The Astros opened the scoring in the top of the fourth thanks to two errors. Post 400 first got on the board when an error scored one run.
 
Kindred tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth thanks to two singles. Kindred tied the game at two on a single by Stanley Belaskie.
 
Ethan Doll earned the win for the Astros. The righty gave up seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four and walking one. Jack Wold took the loss for Kindred. The starting pitcher went seven innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking none. Chase Lura threw one inning of no-run ball for the Astros in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
 
Ashton Rinas led the Astros with three hits in three at bats. Werremeyer led Post 400 with one run batted in.  Cayden Neuharth collected two hits for Fargo Post 400 in three at bats. Fargo turned two double plays in the game. The Astros didn't commit a single error in the field. Neuharth had the most chances in the field with six.
 
Belaskie and Bryce Whipple were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Kindred. Nicholas Thompson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Kindred in hits. Jeremiah Dockter stole two bases.
 
 
Gus Werremeyer Has Lots Of Hits But Post 400 Astros Fall To Kindred In Game 2
 
Gus Werremeyer collected three hits in four at bats, but Post 400 Astros lost to Kindred 18-10 on Thursday at TBD. Werremeyer singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the seventh inning.
 
Post 400 Astros collected 16 hits and Kindred had 18 in the high-scoring affair.
 
The Astros opened the scoring in the first after Werremeyer singled, scoring one run.
 
Kindred jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Nicholas Thompson hit a sacrifice fly, Graham Glasoe singled, Jeremiah Dockter doubled, and Jack Wold singled, each scoring one run.
 
Kindred added one run in the second after Kylan Swenson singled on the sixth pitch of the at-bat.
 
The Astros tied the game up in the top of the third thanks to three singles. Fargo tied the game at five on a single by Josh Tandeski.
 
Kindred made the score 9-5 in the bottom of the third after an error scored one run, Masen Allmaras singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
 
Kindred scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to left field by Thompson.
 
Kindred scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Stanley Belaskie doubled, scoring one run, Xander Rath singled, scoring one run, Swenson grounded out, scoring one run, Dockter singled, scoring two runs, and Jack Packer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.
 
Allmaras earned the win for Kindred. The starting pitcher gave up 12 hits and nine runs (eight earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking two. Gavin Jiskra took the loss for the Astros. The righty went one and one-third innings, giving up five runs on six hits, striking out none and walking one.
 
Post 400 piled up 16 hits in the game. Tandeski led the Astros with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. They went 2-for-4 on the day. Kade Ohlhauser, Chase Lura, Ashton Rinas, Ethan Doll, and Jackson Sturma each collected multiple hits for Fargo.
 
Kindred collected 18 hits in the game. Wold led Kindred with four hits in four at bats. Thompson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kindred with four runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Swenson, Allmaras, Dockter, and Rath each collected multiple hits for Kindred. Rath stole two bases. Kindred turned one double play in the game.
 
Post 400 Astros will travel to Brookings, SD Junior Legion for their next game on Saturday.
