Comets Win Both Against Moorhead Golds

Post 400 Comets Survive Moorhead Golds
 
Post 400 built a 4-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Moorhead Golds's charge for a 5-4 victory on Thursday. Moorhead Golds closed the gap by scoring on a ground out and a single.
 
Fargo got on the board in the second inning after Brady Haiskenen doubled, scoring one run.
 
Brayden Yates stepped on the mound first for the Comets. The starting pitcher allowed 10 hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Schwants opened the game for Moorhead Golds. They gave up seven hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out four and walking three.
 
Calvin Jungling and Haiskenen were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Comets. Matt Nelson, Haiskenen, and Blake Chase each drove in one run for Post 400. Fargo turned two double plays in the game.
 
Moorhead Golds accumulated 10 hits in the game. Citorowski, Werth, Easton Groce, and C Huogari each collected two hits for Moorhead Golds. Citorowski, Gavin Oehlke, and Huogari each drove in one run for Moorhead Golds. Moorhead Golds turned one double play in the game.
 
 
Post 400 Comets Defeats Moorhead Golds On Back Of Clutch Display From Blake McCarthy
 
Blake McCarthy drove in four runs on three hits to lead Post 400 past Moorhead Golds 11-5 on Friday. McCarthy singled in the second inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two.
 
Fargo opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to three singles. Post 400 Comets 18U first got on the board when Keegan W singled, scoring one run.
 
Post 400 extended their early lead with four runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by McCarthy and Grant Schluchter.
 
Schluchter opened the game for Post 400. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out none and walking four. Connor Nefzger stepped on the mound first for Moorhead Golds. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and four runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Calvin Jungling appeared in relief for Fargo.
 
Fargo collected 12 hits in the game. Schluchter and Blake Chase each collected multiple hits for Post 400. The Comets had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Post 400 Comets 18U turned three double plays in the game.
 
Werth and Casey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Moorhead Golds while hitting back-to-back. Frechickson, Werth, and Owen Tjon each drove in one run for Moorhead Golds. Moorhead Golds had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Warzecha and #21 led the team with two bases on balls each.
