Astros Split Against the Jets

Post 400 Astros Go Down On Final Play Against Fargo Post 2 Jets
 
A walk-off left the Post 400 Astros on the wrong end of an 8-7 defeat to Fargo Post 2 Jets on Tuesday. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the eighth when Andrew Hanson singled, scoring one run.
 
Post 400 Astros fell despite leading 5-1 in the third.
 
Fargo Post 2 Jets opened the scoring in the first after Ozzie Egan grounded out, scoring one run.
 
In the top of the second inning, Post 400 Astros went back into the lead after Coleston Senn hit a sacrifice fly, Kade Ohlhauser doubled, and the Jets committed an error, each scoring one run.
 
Post 400 Astros added two runs in the third. Chase Lura doubled, making the score 5-1.
 
Hanson singled, which helped Fargo Post 2 Jets tie the game at five in the bottom of the seventh.
 
In the top of the eighth, Post 400 Astros broke up the tie when Jackson Sturma hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 7-5.
 
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Fargo Post 2 Jets went back into the lead after Jake Kennedy walked, Egan walked, and Hanson singled, each scoring one run.
 
Egan earned the win for Fargo Post 2 Jets. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits and two runs (zero earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking none. Ashton Rinas led things off on the mound for Post 400 Astros 16U. They gave up eight hits and five runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Ethan Ibach started on the mound for Fargo Post 2 Jets. The right-handed pitcher gave up eight hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking two.
 
Senn and Kane Mathiason each collected two hits for Post 400 Astros 16U. Lura led Post 400 Astros 16U with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
 
Hanson and Egan were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Fargo Post 2 Jets.
 
 
 
Alex Christopherson’s Clutch Hitting Propels Post 400 Astros 16U To Victory Over Fargo Post 2 Jets
 
Alex Christopherson drove in four runs on three hits to lead Post 400 Astros 16U past Fargo Post 2 Jets 11-8 on Wednesday. Christopherson doubled in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the sixth inning, scoring one.
 
Fargo Post 2 Jets were the first to get on the board in the first when Ozzie Egan doubled, scoring one run.
 
Kade Ohlhauser singled, which helped Post 400 Astros 16U tie the game at one in the top of the second.
 
A triple by Alex Such gave Fargo Post 2 Jets the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second.
 
Post 400 Astros 16U flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring eight runs on four hits to take a 9-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Christopherson that drove in three.
 
Fargo Post 2 Jets scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Such doubled, scoring two runs, Michael Grensteiner hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Jake Kennedy singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
 
Brady Hecker stepped on the mound first for Post 400 Astros 16U. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking four. Anthony Erickson stepped on the mound first for Fargo Post 2 Jets. They gave up five hits and nine runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Coleston Senn appeared in relief for Post 400 Astros 16U.
 
Gus Werremeyer collected two hits for Post 400 Astros 16U in four at bats. Ohlhauser stole two bases.
 
Such, Grensteiner, and Lincoln Deibert each collected two hits for Fargo Post 2 Jets. Such led Fargo Post 2 Jets with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. They went 2-for-3 on the day.
