Post 400 Stars Can't Keep Lead In Game With Moorhead Blues

Even though Post 400 Stars and Moorhead Blues both had their opportunities, it was the Blues that eventually prevailed 11-8 on Saturday. Moorhead Blues were down 8-7 in the top of the ninth inning when Reese Bohney doubled, scoring two runs.
 
Fargo Post 400 Stars opened the scoring in the first after Andre Werk singled, scoring one run.
 
Moorhead made the score 3-1 in the top of the third after Jacob Vannett singled, scoring one run, and Carter Heinsch doubled, scoring two runs.
 
Fargo made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the third after Werk singled, scoring one run, and Jackson Amerman doubled, scoring two runs.
 
Moorhead captured the lead, 6-4, in the top of the sixth when Aaron Rierson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Cullen Wilson singled, scoring two runs.
 
Post 400 tied the game at six on a single by Caleb Christianson.
 
In the bottom of the seventh, Fargo broke up the tie when an error scored one run. Then a single by Owen Shannon followed to extend the lead to 8-6.
 
Moorhead captured the lead, 11-8, in the top of the ninth after Bohney doubled, and Vannett singled, each scoring two runs.
 
Brady Saari earned the win for Moorhead. The reliever gave up six hits and four runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Shannon took the loss for Fargo. The right-handed pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out one and walking two. Amerman stepped on the bump first for Fargo. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking four. Heinsch started the game for the Blues. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out one and walking none.
 
Fargo Post 400 Stars amassed 11 hits in the game. Amerman, Christianson, and Werk each collected two hits for Post 400. Amerman and Werk were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Fargo. The Stars turned one double play in the game. Post 400 didn't commit a single error in the field.
 
Moorhead tallied 15 hits in the game. Bohney, Vannett, Wilson, and Saari each collected three hits for the Blues. Bohney and Vannett were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for MHD Blues. Heinsch collected two hits for Moorhead in five at bats. Elijah Mack paced Moorhead with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Moorhead turned one double play in the game.
 
Fargo Post 400 will travel to Grand Forks for their next game on Tuesday.
