Fargo Post 400 Stars Drop Both to Fargo Post 2

Post 400 Stars Stymied By Fargo Post 2 (Game 1)
 
Post 400 Stars had trouble keeping up with Fargo Post 2 in an 8-0 loss on Thursday.
 
Post 2 got on the board in the top of the first inning after Adam Leininger homered to right field, scoring two runs, and Connor Holm singled, scoring one run.
 
Post 2 added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when an error scored one run, and Jordan Leininger singled, scoring two runs.
 
Charlie Kalbrener earned the win for Fargo Post 2. The righty gave up three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three. Matthew Bryant took the loss for Post 400 Stars. The righty went four innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking two.
 
Jackson Amerman, Bryant, and Caleb Christianson each collected one hit for Fargo Post 400 Stars.
 
Post 2 piled up 10 hits in the game. Holm, Leininger, and Jonah Dejong each collected two hits for Post 2. Leininger provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Post 2 with three runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Post 2 turned one double play in the game. Post 2 were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Dejong had the most chances in the field with eight.
 
 
Post 400 Stars Loses Despite Out Hitting Fargo Post 2 (Game 2)
 
Post 400 Stars fell 9-0 to Fargo Post 2 on Friday despite out-hitting them seven to four.
 
Post 2 got on the board in the second inning after Jonah Dejong singled, scoring one run.
 
Post 2 added two runs in the third. Connor Holm tripled, making the score 3-0.
 
Zach LaMont earned the win for Post 2. They surrendered seven hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking none. Colby Hanson took the loss for Post 400 Stars. They went three innings, surrendering three runs on three hits, striking out one and walking three.
 
Number eight hitter, Dejong, showed the depth of Fargo Post 2's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Adam Leininger led Post 2 with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Fargo Post 2 were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
 
Post 400 Stars play at home on Friday against West Fargo Patriots in their next game.
