Post 400 Stars had trouble keeping up with Mandan Legion in a 14-1 loss on Wednesday.
Mandan got on the board in the first inning after an error scored one run.
Mandan added one run in the second after Hudson Sheldon singled.
Mandan scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the fourth inning. Sheldon singled, scoring one run, McCoy Keller doubled, scoring one run, Dylan Gierke tripled, scoring two runs, Jamison Nelson singled, scoring one run, and Tukker Horner drew a walk, scoring one run.
Keller earned the win for Mandan. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and one run over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Logan Sullivan took the loss for Post 400 Stars. They went two and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two.
Gunnar Majerus led Post 400 Stars with two hits in three at bats. Andre Werk went 1-for-2 at the plate as the left-handed hitter led the team with one run batted in.
Mandan piled up 16 hits in the game. Sheldon led Mandan with three hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Brayden Bunnell and Nelson each drove in three runs for Mandan. Keller, Gierke, Tate Olson, and Seth Arenz each collected multiple hits for Mandan. Mandan had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Sheldon and Horner led the team with two walks each. Sheldon stole two bases. Mandan turned one double play in the game.
